If you've been admiring all those beautiful, brioche shawl patterns out there, join us for our Flat Brioche class! In this two session class we'll be making a two-color scarf, worked flat, just in time for holiday gift giving. 

Time: Two 2-hour classes
Level 3:  Look, I made some stuff! I can knit and purl, knit in the round, increase and decrease, and I’m ready to try something new.
Skills you need: Cast on, knit and purl, work two-color brioche in the round, bind off
Skills you will learn: 

• Knit flat brioche

Materials:

• "Two-Color Brioche Scarf" pattern by Edith Murphy for Classic Elite Yarns (available on Ravelry or in-store)
• 16” or 20” circular needle in size US8 (5 mm).  Please ignore the needle size called for in the pattern - US8 is the correct size to use. Note: flat brioche knitting cannot be done on straight needles due to its nature; you must use a circular needle.  
• Two colors of bulky/chunky weight yarn, 110 yards or more of each color

Suggested Yarns: 

• Berroco Ultra Alpaca or Vintage Chunky

For the best experience, we recommend that you do not use fully synthetic or cotton yarn, or dark colors. Your colors should be high contrast and one may be speckled, variegated or self-striping.  As a reminder, yarn for classes must come from KGY. Visit our class policy page for more information.

Preparation: Please come to class with the cast on only completed, taking care to cast on loosely as directed in the pattern. If you need help, come to Knit Studio!
