If you've been admiring all those beautiful, squishy brioche patterns out there, join us for Brioche Basics! In this two session class we'll be making a two-color cowl and you will learn the basic brioche stitches, how to read your brioche knitting, and how to correct errors.

Time: Two 2-hour classes
Level: 3
Skills you need: Cast on, knit and purl, bind off; all in the round
Skills you will learn: Two-color brioche knitting in the round 

Materials:

• Bulky Brioche Cowl (store pattern)
• Circular knitting needle, US 9 (5.5 mm) in 16” or 20” 
• Bulky weight yarn in 2 colors, 100 g each.  At least one color must be a solid, and the two colors should be high contrast.

Suggested Yarns: 

• Berroco Vintage Chunky
• Berroco Ultra Wool Chunky
• Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky

For the best experience, we recommend that you do not use fully synthetic or cotton yarn. As a reminder, yarn for classes must come from KGY. Visit our class policy page for more information.

​Preparation:  Please come to class with the “Cast On” section of the pattern completed (cast on and knit 3 rounds).  If you need help, come to Knit Studio!
