Have you wondered how people make those nifty cabled patterns that twist and turn their way across their knitting? It’s easier than you may think! This class will get you started on cabling, and you’ll be ready to complete your own cabled cowl by the end of the class.
 
Time: 1 two-hour class
Level 3: Look, I made some stuff! I can knit and purl, knit in the round, increase and decrease, and I’m ready to try something new.
Skills you need: Cast on, knit and purl in the round, bind off.
Skills you will learn: Cabling
 
Materials:

• "Thornbury Cowl" pattern by Flash Your Knits (available on Ravelry or in-store)
• Needles: 24” (or 16”) circular needles, in sizes US 9 and US 10 (5.5 mm and 6.0 mm); a US 7 (4.5 mm) if you have one may also be useful but is not strictly necessary
• Stitch markers
• Cable needle or US size 7–10 DPN. We will have a variety of styles of cable needle available in class for you to try.

Suggested Yarns: 1 skein of either for the short version, 2 skeins to make the pattern exactly as written.

• Berroco Vintage Chunky
• Berroco Ultra Wool Chunky

For the best experience, we recommend that you do not use fully synthetic or cotton yarn, or dark colors. As a reminder, yarn for classes must come from KGY. Visit our class policy page for more information.
 
Preparation: Please come to class with the ribbing and first three set-up rows completed. If you need help, come to Knit Studio!
